The first

Tonight is a magical night. I get the pleasure of staying home by myself while the girls are in bed. This is my first night alone in a LONG time! It's heavenly. Other than writing this and maybe indulging with a beer, I have nothing going on. Ah.

I bought my books for summer classes today. Holy Mackerel! I've got more books in these 2 classes (A & P I, and Span I) than I did in all five classes this passed spring. However, I got lucky on two accounts with this. 1., the books are the same for A & P II and for Span II, so I don't need to buy books next summer, and 2., since I"m taking A & P II next summer, I don't have to take it this fall! Woo Hoo! I was going to be enrolled in 17 credits, but 21 contact hours this fall. I'm so happy that I do not have to do that anymore! I traded the A & P for History. I wanted to take my Stats class, but I guess that's just going to wait until Spring.

I'm not very good at segues. Please forgive me for my choppy, lack of transition thoughts. I'm about to start talking about my husband. (<--- my segue)

So, at a glance, my husband is a very "manly" type. He's got a grizzly beard, a deep voice, a cocky sense of humor--the whole bit. That is why I find it hilarious that he's just started playing D & D. Yes, folks, my husband is a certified Dungeons and Dragons dork. Now, before you start slinging around your preconceived notions about D & D dorks, let me just say that it's not at all how I imagined it to be. I imagined pimply-faced, undevirginized kids who are drinking pop and eating cheesy poofs, while wielding plastic swords and 12-sided-die. Instead the guys who my husband plays with are in their mid 30's (cept for Lep) with wives and children. We were offered pop, but no cheesey poofs, and to my ultimate disappointment, there were no faux weapons, but as a silver lining, everyone was equipped with their own 12 sided die. I didn't get a chance to see exactly what went on in the DND room, because us women were too busy tending the children and refilling the drinks. I can say, though, Lep had fun, and I"m extremely happy for him. It's been a long time since he's been able to find friends and have a good time. I am looking forward to him playing on Friday nights--he'll have fun, and I'll have peace. :)
